The House That Black Built: Conservatory Makeover with Zinsser AllCoat Exterior Matt

The House That Black Built is an interior blog and Instagram feed created by Chelsea, following her journey renovating a 100+ year old Victorian Villa on the Cheshire/Shropshire border.

Chelsea’s followers and readers enjoy her curated feed, filled with interior design inspiration, but also love her honest, unfiltered and sometimes amusing approach to renovation life and unwavering enthusiasm for DIY.

Chelsea has long been a fan of the Zinsser AllCoat range, previously using the product to revamp the interior of her old white UPVC conservatory, transforming it into an elegant black structure which matches her period property. After seeing the result from painting the inside, Chelsea’s next DIY job was spraying the conservatory’s exterior to match.

Chelsey said “I came across the Zinsser AllCoat Exterior paint when I was researching painting the UPVC inside of my conservatory. It ticked all of the boxes for my conservatory renovation project as it’s durable, weather resistant and fast drying. I used a spray gun for that extra special tidy finish and love the chalky Matt finish of the AllCoat Exterior Black paint”

Available in MattSatin and Gloss, Zinsser AllCoat Exterior is an ultimate performance paint offering supreme protection to all exterior surfaces, including UPVC. It forms a tough, vapour-permeable, low maintenance, water-shedding finish that is recoatable in just 1 hour.

For most jobs, there is no need to purchase a separate primer. AllCoat is self-priming and can be applied to previously painted surfaces including glossy those coated with bitumen, tar varnish or creosote, without sanding.

AllCoat Exterior gives excellent resistance against cracking, blistering and flaking. The tough finish is resistant to rain and severe weather and offers excellent colour retention, in addition the paint contains a biocide to protect the dried coating against fungal degradation.

The first coat primes and seals the surface, providing a base for the topcoat. The topcoat completes the sealing process while providing additional moisture resistance and protection, ensuring that any exterior looks bright and beautiful for up to 15 years.

AllCoat water based and solvent based paint can be matched to any RAL / BS or NCS colour reference.
